The 5 Levels of Leadership Insights
Leadership doesn't take you one day, but it takes you daily; likewise, an American leadership author and expert, John C. Maxwell, wisely claimed, "leadership is the process, not position." It means that people need to earn the levels of leadership through its process. In order to reach or climb up the each level of leadership, you need to walk with the 5 levels of leadership, which is the proven steps to maximize your potentials. On level 1 position, people follow you because they have to. Being a positional leader is not bad; everyone can be a positional leader; however, you cannot use your position for everything with your people; it will be worst - people won't give their extra efforts to do assignment for you. On level 2: permission, you can climb up this level wisely to develop the trust and right to lead your people in organization. From the 21 irrefutable laws of leadership, the law of solid ground, trust is the foundation for your leadership and real life. You can earn trust from your relationship and friendship; it takes time to build good or great relationship, but you need to do it. Now when you reached to level 2, you have to move to level 3, production, you have position, trust and right to lead, so on this level you start to add productivity in your organization. On level 4, you are a people developer, which means you develop people from follower to leader themselves. You multiply productivity as you add horsepower in organization. On level 5, it is the hardest level, which you need to take long time or lifetime to reach it. You add growth and leaders to expotential in organization; it is the generation of leadership development that keeping on.
